Protective gear

So David went on a bicycle ride today in this beautiful weather.  When he got home, he put his helmet on the table.  Well, of course, the little 2 year old hands find it and want to wear it.  David puts it on her head, and she runs around the house like crazy.  She slows down for a second to sit at the table and eat an apple.  Then....

she slips off the chair.

Did she get hurt?

No.  She was wearing a helmet.

I'll just be a sec...

but, not really.

I thought I'd sit down and update the ol' blog-a-roo with a little story.  Then I thought, well maybe I'll just change my font to something cool.  Then I thought, "Yeh, I can do this."  Then, I realized I have been sitting at the computer for about an hour getting this font in my template, editing my HTML, and finally looking at my page with a pretty sweet font.  But really?  An hour?  It's a good thing I like it, because there's no way I'm changing it now.

Enjoy.

What week am I?

Due Date:  I guess July 17th.  Although my money is on June.
How far along:  22 weeks today by original due date.  23 weeks, 4 days by last u/s
Weight Gain:  Well, 20 pounds total.  Which means, I'm back on track.  At least he didn't say, "Little bit of weight gain here.  The more you gain, the harder it is to lose later."
Maternity Clothes:  Dear Bella Band, I love you.  Thank you for supporting my growing baby belly in ways I only hoped you could.
Stretch Marks:  I don't want to talk about it.
Feeling Baby:  Most definitely.  I would say strong kicks every 3 hours at least.  David, Steph (sil), and my boss have also felt kicks.  :)  Needless to say, I don't mind hands on my belly.....if I know you.
Food Cravings:  Nothing that I had to leave the house for.  I've been enjoying Skittles again.  Damn Skittles.  Strawberry-Orange Gatorade is a crowd-pleaser.
Gender:  Still a boy!
Baby's Heartrate:  140's  :)
What I miss:  Skinny jeans and heels.
What I love:  Not having to suck in after a big meal.
Looking forward to:  Long summer dresses when the weather heats up.  Enjoying my last "me and Emma" days playing and tanning at the pool.
Milestone:  Past the halfway mark.  Not gaining 2 pounds a week.

Two weeks = 14 days

Took a pregnancy test.
Positive.
Went to the doctor.
Ultrasound.
Saw tiny heartbeat and a 9 week, 2 day-old baby.
Due date: July 17th
Belly grew.
Felt small kicks at 16 weeks.
Sure they were kicks.
Stopped feeling kicks for 48 hours.
Called doctor.
Scheduled ultrasound for same day.
Saw baby.
Saw heartbeat.
Took a deep breath.
He was okay.
Oh yeah.
Found out it was a boy.
Smiled and called parents.
Confimed boy name.
(No, not telling.)
Due date "unofficially" read July 9th
Talked to doc.
He says stick with first due date.
Back to 17th.
Belly grew.
Feet swelled.
Gained weight.
Routine ultrasound today at 21 weeks.
Saw baby boy again.
Saw heartbeat again.
All organs present.
Baby measuring big.
1 pound 6 ounces big.
Baby book says 21 week old babies usually don't even weigh 1 lb yet.
Thought I was 21 weeks, 3 days.
Ultrasound "unoffically" says 23 weeks, 1 day.
Am I reading it wrong?
No.
Due date "unofficially" reads July FIFTH
Told to stick with first due date unless there is a 2 week difference.
There is a 12 day difference.

Alright, alright....

I lied.

It's chips & queso.

That's what I'm craving.  When I said I wasn't craving anything, apparently I mispoke.

I wasn't aware that my body would soon want salty tortilla chips && nacho cheese queso at 11:00 am in the morning.  I like to think of it as a after-breakfast snack.  You know, good for you - get you going for the day.

Yep.  Call it brunch, I don't care.  It's good.
